Description
In about 1910, Frank Waters, picked up his shears and moved from the east side of Broadway to the west, into this building. With him are his two apprentice barbers, Jim and Homer Wilson, seen hanging close against the window frame. Walters shared the building with the "Sterling Journal" which from 1901 to 1912 was the "The Bulletin's" competitor. Editor Claude Allen and his printer, Claude Smisor, stand in the doorway with Waters. Under the "O" in "Journal" is the signature of Roy Smith, a local youth who went on to become one of Methodism's most famous lay leaders.
