Prairie Cusine
Collection: Max Moxley Photographs
Title
Prairie Cusine
Subject
History--Sterling, Kansas
Description
One of our favorite pictures is this view of the rather primitive kitchen in Sterling's leading hostelry, The Transcontinental, later known variously as The Morris, The Jennings, and as most of us knew it, The Sterling Hotel. Built in 1886, on the site of the Green Mountain House, this venerable inn was host to some memorable feasts, including the Charter Dinner of the local Rotary Club in March of 1926.
