Description

This photograph, taken in 1898, shows the light plan located in Sterling. It was first built in 1887, and was the first plant of its kind to be built in the town. It cost $50,000 to build, and contained boilers with a capacity of 1,000,000 gallons each day. The manager of the light plant when the photo was taken was M. A. Olmstead.
